So embarassed

Wow. I can't believe that my dada would actually own a cardboard model of a guy who races cars. I guess I shouldn't be that surprised because when my mama was dating him she told me that he had a poster of Tom Cruise in his closet. Who is Kurt Busch anyways? I have only heard of Jeff Gordon, Rusty Wallace (my cat's name) and Tony Stewart. Who is this guy....a rookie? I can't believe that my dada is 33 and acts like he is 20. My mama says that boys will always be kids and girls mature. ???? My dada says that my mama won't throw it in the trash because he loves it but my mama wants to know if Kurt Busch will do the laundry. If he will do the laundry he can stay and help out. My guess is he won't.

look at what my dada came home from the dover race with. i love it but my mama is not on the same page. she says that it's going out in the trash. i know she really wouldn't do that because she knows how much dada loves kurt busch. i'm doing well, have had a great week of daycare. i'm gonna start back up at pre-school on tuesday and have no doubt that i'll continue to flourish. i miss everyone. i will get to see my mom-mom and pops on their way back from SC so i'm looking forward to that. hope everyone is doing well. xoxo -sammie

Back in the ballgame

mono is supposed to last a long time but I am proud to say that I am back in the ballgame. i beat mono in 11 days. i am not back to school yet but am back to daycare. my mama and dada don't know that the reason i am not ready for school is because i don't want to do the homework. i have been happy and good at daycare but have not been taking naps. i love watching what is happening around me. sorry! my dada says that trait i get from my mama. she is very nosey just like me. my mama says that she resents that comment but i have no idea what that means. I have not been up to doing all my tricks but have been very funny. i have learned how to say eat in sign language. i hold my had up to my mouth and touch it but i do it backwards like the other signs i have learned. hey...i can't be perfect at everything. my mama and dada love testing me and they get so excited when they see it. they are so funny. i guess they really love me.

A Day With Dada

i had a great day today with my dada. we rocked out a ton of laziness and some naps. we watched movies and golf. it was fun. i was such a good eater too. i ate a whole joint of yogurt at noon and drank a lot of apple juice. then, at 3:30, i ate a ton of mac and cheese and drank a whole cup of milk. this has, by far, been my best/happiest day. dada got lucky. mama worked late so dada went ahead and gave me the best tubby.....EVER!!! he did my hair so nice. i'm so happy..............wait, hang on, :Sammie turns to dada:....."go ahead and get a beer, dad, you deserve it". okay, i'm back. anyway, looking forward to a great weekend. and i know dada is really looking forward to seeing pops, uncle joey and, hopefully, uncle bill. i'm gonna send him with a bunch of kisses for everyone. xoxo -sammie

a little better

i am beginning to feel a little bit better. my mama and dada keep saying that for someone who has mono i am not sleeping like i have mono. i am so tired but am not sleeping. maybe it is my medicine. who knows? i started doing some of my old tricks this morning but this afternoon i didn't feel good and was crying a lot. we did manage to take a trip to my favorite store Target and i loved looking in the mirrors. i loved seeing how cute i am. tomorrow i am seeing my "boyfriend" Dr. O'Mara and hopefully i will continue to feel better. If he doesn't give me a sedative to sleep i hope he gives my mama one. then it will be all on dada :)

having mono is not fun. i've seen a doctor 4 out of the last 6 days and have been in the hospital for the last 2. large tonsils, a fever, a huge rash, and an ear infection truly make up the "perfect storm". it has been a really tough week but i'm on my steroid and antibiotic and am totally feeling better. i have to follow up with dr. o'mara on thursday. i wish my mama and dada could get some sleep though. i worry about them. oh, and don't worry, they're not scratching my face up on purpose. those marks are from getting my snot nose rubbed every day for the past week. i say it makes me look tough. so, my plan is to not be in the hospital for an entire year. think i can make it? i'm gonna do my best.

Very Sick

It is almost 100% positive that I have mono. My dada says it is from kissing the boys at my new school. I was trying to keep it a secret but he always seems to find these things out! Lately my life has consisted of going to the doctors, getting blood taken, sleeping, coughing, going to the doctors, getting blood taken, getting my first Minnie Mouse sticker, sleeping, coughing, and topping it all off with a nice trip to the ER. The awesome doctors there gave me a dose of something that should make my tonsils smaller which will help me breathe and swallow. They also gave me a dose of Motrin to help my fever that has lasted 4 days. Being sick really bites the big one but at least I have spent a lot of time with my mama and dada. After my exciting trip to the ER I am fast asleep on the comforter in my mama and dada's room (in case I throw up) and I hope that I sleep in. Actually, my mama hopes that I sleep in.

I better be all well for the big game on Monday night. E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!

Being Sick Sucks

Our wittle peanut has not been herself for the last few days. She has a cold, a fever and an ear infection. Nothing hurts our hearts more than when we know she doesn't feel well and there is only so much we can do. Cathy has her, right now, at her 2nd doctor visit in 3 days. We'll know more later.

E-A-G-L-E-S

My Dada and I had a great time today watching the game. E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles! I couldn't believe that they won 38-3. Thank God. My Dada gets so crabby when they lose. I tell him all the time that it's just a game, but he doesn't understand. My Mama says boys think football is everything. Hopefully the Eagles will continue to do well. David Akers might be the best kicker in the league and he is my boy.

Fly eagles fly!
My Pops bought me this shirt a long time ago when he went to the Capitals game with my Dada. It was too big...actually I was just too small. Now it fits like a glove. I wore it last night to bed. Thanks Pops!

Fast asleep. I went out to dinner with my best friend tonight for the first time in a long time and it was so nice to come home to find Sammie fast asleep. She looked so cute in our bed. I know, she is still sleeping in our bed...we don't know how to break it and have been trying really hard for a long time but, at least she was asleep and I wasn't the one who had to do it! I had to really try hard not to pick her up, rock her, and give her many kisses. Maybe I should go out more often!

It's no secret that Sammie has a head full of curls. Where she gets them from, I have no idea. Daily, it is a struggle to brush those crazy curls. No matter how much detangler spray we use, it is always a chore to get the brush through her hair. The other night, when Sammie was eating, I noticed "the perfect curl". It is behind her left ear. It is perfect; just like she is.

i talked to Sammie's daycare teacher this afternoon. she said Sammie returned to daycare and got off the bus just as happy as can be. she had a great first day of pre-school. Sammie was sound asleep when i called so they must've really been working with her and learning today.
Going to school. Cathy took off this morning to meet the bus at daycare and make sure Sammie got off okay. Apparently, she was in a great mood and didn't mind getting on the bus at all. Momma got lots of pictures. Our little baby is turning into a little lady.

bye-bye, sammie, have a great day!
The morning of her first day of school. She really wasn't totally awake yet. She was a little on the cranky side but calmed down eventually.

Last night, Sammie got her "night before first day of pre-school" tubby and her picture taken with dada. She was rocking out one of her new big girl night gowns.

Labor Day Weekend

Sammie had a great weekend. We went to the mall and out to lunch on Saturday. She was such a good girl in the restaurant right up until she knocked my beer over. She hung out with Cathy for most of the day on Sunday and then watched some of the race with me Sunday night. Yesterday we took her and Trevor to the zoo. It was a little hot but she hung in there like a champ. Trevor got tired after a couple hours (thankfully). We shot some videos of Sammie doing some of her tricks. I'm going to try to post them here. And, Aunt Linda, just so you know, after we hung up the phone, she would not STOP saying "dada". Hope everyone is having a great day.
